Founded in 2017 by Theatre Woodstock, STAGES Senior Company is a musical theatre intensive for young people in grades 9-12. Producing high-quality, full-length musicals with a team of arts professionals and local teachers at the helm, Senior Company is for students wishing to immerse themselves in the world of singing, dancing and acting.
Participants can expect to grow their skills in vocal technique, music terminology, reading music, singing in multiple part harmony, stage presence, character development, scene study, public speaking, memorization, and learning and performing choreography in multiple styles as well as confidence, leadership, teamwork, self-esteem, creativity and communication. We are very proud of the supportive, inclusive community we have created and the well-rounded performers that graduate from the program.

What days and times do rehearsals happen?
Mondays and Tuesdays, 4:00pm-7:00pm.
When do rehearsals begin?
Rehearsals for The Spongebob Musical begin Monday January 13th, 2025.
Is there a program fee?
Yes. To participate in Senior Company, there is a program fee of $850. This works out to about $25/rehearsal or $170/month. A $50 non-refundable fee will be required upon acceptance into the program. The remaining $800 can be paid all at once, or over time, as long as the full fee is paid by opening night. We accept cash, cheque, Interac and VISA at our Box Office.
Why is it so expensive?
Licensing a show and the associated production costs are very expensive and we like to present top quality musical theatre to our community! Senior Company is proud to pay their team members for their time and expertise, and also hires musicians to play live for the production. If you need financial assistance, we are happy to present you with options.
What if I have to miss a rehearsal?
Attendance is incredibly important and missing rehearsals, arriving late, and/or leaving early affects the entire production. If you miss a rehearsal/part of a rehearsal, there is a very high chance you will be removed from the song/dance/scene being worked on that day. Missing multiple rehearsals could result in being removed entirely from the show. Participants should consider other extracurricular activity schedules before committing to Senior Co. Part-time jobs must be informed of rehearsal and production dates and times. Missing rehearsal due to illness is acceptable as long as it is communicated ahead of time to the Stage Manager.
Do you rehearse on holidays?
We do NOT rehearse on Family Day, throughout March Break, or on Easter Monday. Victoria Day Monday is reserved for rehearsal if needed.
When are the public performances?
The Spongebob Musical’s public performances will take place on Thursday May 22nd, Friday May 23rd, Saturday May 24th, Sunday May 26th, Thursday May 29th, Friday May 30th and Saturday May 31st.
